Gulf Development Group began operations as a speculative builder in the median end of the luxury housing market in 1994. By its fifth year of operation, the company had emerged as a full-scale luxury home builder, and was privileged to be involved with numerous challenging and rewarding client projects. During 2002, the company reached the pinnacle of its success as a result of its involvement in “Damore House” in Fort Myers, Florida. This project earned the company a “Certificate of Merit” from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Chicago Chapter, for its involvement as the projects General Contractor.
Damore House was awarded first place in AIA Chicago’s annual award competition, competing against more than 150 entries from throughout the Southeastern United States. Furthermore, not only was our client an architect himself, he also serves as the Director of Architecture for one of the largest architectural firms in the world. Consequently, being awarded this project by a Client of such prominence and professional standing, was recognition of the reputation we had earned for producing quality work - and standing behind the work that we produced.
